Tamarind Based Seer Fish Curry

Ingredients
  1. Tamarind Pulp (of a lemon size ball)
  2. Cumin seeds (2 tsp)
  3. Fenugreek seeds (1/4 tsp)
  4. Black pepper (4-5 corns)
  5. Coriander seeds (1 tsp)
  6. Red Chill (3)
  7. Curry Leaves
  8. Green Chilli (2)
  9. Big onions (2)
  10. Small onions (10)
  11. Garlic pods (4)
  12. Tomatoes (2)
  13. Seer fish 200g
Preparation
  • Grind small onions and garlic pods into a smooth paste
  • Grind ingredients in red into a dry powder
  • Fry fish pieces in little oil for 2-3 mins on each side and keep aside
  • Heat oil, add mustard and cumin
  • After mustard splutters, add chopped big onions along with chopped green chillies and curry leaves
  • After onion becomes translucent, add onion+garlic paste
  • Once the paste gets fried, add chopped tomatoes
  • After tomatoes cook well add tamarind pulp and dry powder
  • Bring to boil and add semi-fried fish pieces
  • Add salt and let the curry cook till fish pieces get completely cooked and raw smell of ingredients vanish
Cauliflower Curry

Ingredients
  1. Cumin Seeds
  2. Coriander Seeds
  3. Sompf
  4. Cloves
  5. Cinnamon (Pattai)
  6. Cardamom
  7. Coconut grated (1 cup)
  8. Cauliflower pieces (cleaned in salt water and semi-fried in oil)
  9. Tomatoes (2)
  10. Water (2 cups)
Preparation
  • Roast and Grind all the ingredients in red along with grated coconut
  • Add fried cauliflowers, ground masala and chopped tomatoes into a pan along with water
  • Cook till done
